Tŷ Afon is named after the confluence of the Rivers Colwyn and Glaslyn which occurs beneath the stone bridge you must cross to reach the hotel.

Carried along the breeze, the whispering of water travels to a homely hideaway.

Our countryside retreat sits in the village of Beddgelert, in the northwest of Snowdonia National Park. We are 2 hours from Manchester Airport, and our nearest train station is Porthmadog, which is 16 mins or 7.5 miles away. If you’re travelling to us by car, all directions include magnificent scenery, free of charge.

  • What time is check-in?
    Check-in is from 4pm onwards
  • What time is check-out?
    Check-out is 11am.
  • Is there free parking? & electric vehicle charging.
    Tŷ Afon has its own ample private car at the hotel. EV chargers are locally available within a couple of minutes drive of Ty Afon.
  • Are you dog friendly?
    Boutique bed & breakfast. Unfortunately, Tŷ Afon does not accept dogs unless a guidance dog . Please contact us before your stay to make arrangements. Weddings. Your four pawed family members are welcome to your wedding. We have dedicated rooms available for wedding party dogs.
  • Are you child friendly?
    Due to the tranquil nature Tŷ Afon wants to provide for all guests, only children over 24 months can stay with us.
  • How far are you from Snowdon?
    The hotel is a 19 minute drive / 9 mile trip from the Pen Y Pass car park, the starting point for many of the routes up Snowdon. Please note, if you are planning to climb Snowdon during your stay, most of the car parks must be booked in advance. Alternatively, guests can use the Snowdon Sherpa Bus Service. Please ask our friendly staff if you’d like further advice during your stay.
  • How far are you from the beach?
    The nearest beach is at picturesque Borth-y-Gest, 23 minutes away by car, or 9.3 miles. Nearby alternatives include Harlech and Black Rock Sands.
  • How long does it take to walk into the village?
    The centre of the village is a very short, 3 minute stroll from Tŷ Afon, making it the best hotel for visiting Beddgelert.
